Sometimes we underestimate
the quiet ways
we bring light into the world.
A smile to a stranger.
A kind word that lingers.
Maybe simply showing up.
We don’t have to shine like the sun
to make a difference.
Sometimes we’re just a flicker of light.

Sometimes we underestimate
the quiet ways
we bring light into the world.
A smile to a stranger.
A kind word that lingers.
Maybe simply showing up.
We don’t have to shine like the sun
to make a difference.
Sometimes we’re just a flicker of light.

Every morning, the sun rises without hesitation.
It doesn’t hold on to yesterday’s storms
or worry about tomorrow’s clouds.
It simply begins again.
We, too, are invited to start fresh today.
No matter what weight we carried yesterday.
This is a new chance.
Let the light in.

The trees never cling to their leaves.
When the season shifts,
They let go.
Gracefully, without fear or regret.
Each falling leaf is a quiet lesson:
There is beauty in release.
What we shed creates space
For things we haven’t experienced yet.
Today, we can learn from the trees.
Let go of one small thing —
A worry, an expectation, a burden.
Be the leaf. Don’t be upset.
Letting go is not loss.
It’s trusting in the reset.
The sun doesn’t ask for applause.
It simply arrives, steady and true,
spilling its colors
across the stillness of the lake.
Like the sun,
we can choose
to rise again today ~ quietly, gently,
without demanding recognition.
Just the act of rising is enough.

In our book, Come Find Your Light, we wrote:
“There are times when life feels heavy, when shadows linger, and hope seems far away. In these moments, the light may be hidden, yet it is never gone. It waits–patiently–ready for us to notice, to reach for it, and to be renewed.”We believe that truth still holds. Whatever you’re carrying today, notice the small sparks around you. Maybe it’s the kindness of a stranger. Perhaps it’s the color of a falling leaf or the comfort of a familiar song. They are all light, guiding us quietly forward.
Sometimes we underestimate the quiet ways we bring light into the world. A smile, maybe, towards a stranger. A kind word that lingers longer than we know. Maybe just showing up to give someone a hug.
I have realized I don’t have to shine like the sun all the time to make a difference. Sometimes, it’s just a small flicker in a dark room.
This past month has been filled with moments of darkness. We find ways to keep the fire going. It’s what we do.

In our book, Come Find Your Light, we wrote:
We are specks on this one planet.
Tilting at windmills
Believing in battles
Our imaginations deems necessary to tell.
But if you look up at the sky,
And are humbled by its size,
Then you’ll lay down your swords
And allow life through God’s eyes.
We believe this truth still holds. Whatever you are carrying today, may you notice the small specks around you. Notice the kindness of a stranger, the color of a fall leaf, and the comfort of a familiar song. They are all light, guiding us quietly forward.
When worry pulls you into the future, or emotional memories drag you backwards into the past, try this practice to bring you back:
You don’t have to have all the answers at this moment. Right now, being here is enough.
